CSC Career Exploration Model
CSC’s programming is designed as a progressive career exploration system that helps students move from awareness to deeper exploration and real-world workplace experience.
Exposure – Career Days
All middle school students participate in immersive Career Days that introduce them to professionals across the 16 nationally recognized career clusters, helping students discover career paths they may not have previously considered.
Exploration – Pop-Up Clubs
Students who are curious about particular careers can participate in smaller Pop-Up Clubs where they gain hands-on experience, ask questions, and explore specific professions more deeply.
Immersion – Job Shadow Experiences
Through the Young Entrepreneurs class, students can participate in extended job shadow placements with local employers, observing real workplaces and developing an understanding of professional expectations and work environments.
Reflection and Planning – Naviance
Naviance supports the entire model by giving students a structured way to explore career pathways, reflect on their experiences, and connect their interests and strengths to future education and career possibilities.
Together, these programs create a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate pathway for career exploration, helping students move from curiosity to confidence as they begin imagining their future.
